Financial assistance to Ded Li Bon De Lasang MAITUM, Sarangani (March 5, 2012) – Rosalinda Bantilan (center) of Ded Li Bon De Lasang from Malapatan receives P20,000 financial assistance for materials and equipment in mat weaving from Strengthening Technological Advancement for Reforms (STAR) project under the office of Vice Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon (2nd right) at the community outreach in Maguling National High School. Livelihood assistance to IBDF communities MAITUM, Sarangani (March 5, 2012) – Vice Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon (4th left), Mayor Elsie Lucille Perrett (3rd right) and provincial officials lead the ceremonial turnover of a check worth P56,000 as livelihood assistance to Integrated Barangay Defense Force (IBDF) in barangay Maguling headed by Barangay Captain Alex Coquilla (6th left) from Senator Vicente Sotto III during the community outreach at barangay Maguling. The Maitum Diorama at the Municipal Hall of Maitum, where hundreds of tourists visit every month, has become the hub for educational tourism in the province for its depiction of a glorious past and assemblage of human-shaped pottery unparalleled in Southeast Asia. Sarangani studes top national science contests MAITUM, Sarangani (February 20, 2012) - Malalag National High School principal Florlie Mallare (extreme right) presents to municipal officials and employees Monday, February 20, the winners for the 9th National Science Quest held in Baguio City last February 10-12. With their research paper of Apoptosis Induction and Cytogenetic Screening of Ethno-botanicals in Toxicity and Cancer Research, Malalag National High School students (L-R) Denise Mae de Guzman, Khenno Hinampas and Gwyn Kenneth Narvaez won the 1st Place in Science Investigatory Project, Team Category, while Notre Dame of Maitum student Fernamel Chris Vergara was proclaimed as the champion in Sci-Damath competition.
